Scarlet aquatics- injury prevention talk
This past week, Aqua Omnis had the opportunity to team up with Coach Erin and the talented young athletes at Scarlet Aquatics for an injury prevention talk focused on swimming. As former swimmers ourselves, this event was especially meaningful — we know how much time and effort goes into training, and we also know how important it is to keep the body healthy and injury-free.
During the session, we spoke with the group about some of the most common injuries swimmers face, especially in the shoulders, lower back, and knees. We wanted the swimmers to not just hear about injuries, but to understand how and why they happen — and most importantly, how to prevent them.
From there, we led the athletes through a hands-on demonstration of warm-up and strengthening exercises they can do at home or before practice. These included dynamic stretches, core activation drills, and shoulder stability movements tailored specifically for swimmers. Our goal was to offer practical tools that help build long-term habits for safer, stronger swimming.
The energy from the swimmers was amazing — curious questions, focused effort, and a real interest in learning more about how to care for their bodies. Big thanks to Coach Erin for welcoming us in and helping make this workshop possible!
At Aqua Omnis, we believe health education should be as accessible as sport itself — and we’re just getting started.
Stay tuned for more events like this coming soon!
